In order for you to participate in the program, you must meet several requirements and deadlines:

Apply to the Tennessee Promise program. A local partnering organization will contact you to help you complete your requirements.

File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on www.fafsa.gov.

Attend first mandatory meeting coordinated by partnering organization. Find your meeting date by high school.

Attend second mandatory meeting coordinated by partnering organization.  Find your meeting date by high school.

SPRING

Apply to a community or technical college.

JUL 1, 2017

Complete and report your first 8 hours of community service.

AUG 1, 2017

Complete FAFSA verification, if required by your institution.

Tennessee Promise offers two years of tuition-free community or technical college to Tennessee high school graduates beginning with the Class of 2015.

Students are paired with a partnering organization serving their home county and are provided with a mentor who will support them during the college application process.
